# Creating Your Organization

> Set up your church or ministry organization in ChurchBuddy

# Creating Your Organization

Your organization is the foundation of ChurchBuddy. It's where all your teams, services, events, and people are managed. Each organization is completely separate, so you can manage multiple churches or ministries from one account.

## What is an Organization?

An organization represents your church, ministry, or group. Within an organization, you can:

* Create teams (ministries) and assign people to them
* Schedule services and events
* Manage people and their relationships
* Send announcements and communicate with members
* Track attendance and check-ins
* Organize groups for targeted communication

  **Note**: Organizations must be created in a web browser. The mobile app is for managing existing organizations, not creating new ones.

## Creating Your Organization

To create a new organization:

1. **Log in** to [church.worshipbuddy.org](https://church.worshipbuddy.org) in a web browser
2. Click **Start Organization** or **Create Organization**
3. Fill in your organization details:
   * **Organization Name** - The name of your church or ministry (e.g., "First Community Church")
   * **Organization Type** (required) — free-text field (e.g., "Church", "Ministry")
   * **Address**, **City**, **State**, **ZIP Code** (all required) — used as the default service location
   * **Address Line 2** (optional)
4. Click **"Create Organization"**

## Your Organization ID

After **Create Organization**, the setup wizard opens on step 2 (Teams). Your **Organization ID** (shown as **Organization Code** on wizard step 3 and in **Organization → Organization Details**) is important:

* **Share it with others** - People need this ID to join your organization
* **Keep it secure** - Only share it with people you want to invite
* **Find it anytime** - **Organization → Organization Details** sub-tab

  **Tip**: Copy your Organization ID from **Organization → Organization Details** to share with people joining your org.

## Next Steps

Once your organization is created, you're ready to set it up:

1. **[Add People](/ChurchBuddy/Setup/add_people)** - Add members to your organization
2. **[Create Teams](/ChurchBuddy/Setup/create_team)** - Set up your ministries and teams
3. **[Create Services](/ChurchBuddy/Setup/create_services)** - Set up your regular services
4. **[Configure Settings](/ChurchBuddy/Setup/organization-settings)** - Customize your organization's settings

## Organization Settings

After creating your organization, customize it under **Organization** in the top nav:

* Update organization name and address (**Organization Details**)
* Connect integrations (**Integrations** sub-tab)
* Enable Sunday School (**Sunday School** sub-tab)
* Manage teams (**Teams** sub-tab → redirects to `/org-teams/`)

Service check-in methods are configured under **People → Check-in**, not Organization settings.
